The International Conference "Achievements and Challenges in Geology" will be held on October 16-17, 2025 in Tbilisi, Georgia

The conference is organized by the Alexandre Janelidze Institute of Geology, with the support of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. The event goals are: to present the Georgian scientists’ recent achievements, to share up-to-date knowledge and experience between Georgian and foreign scientists, and integrate Georgian scientists into the international scientific community trough strengthening cooperation.

The scientific themes of the conference cover all fields of geology.
The working languages of the conference are Georgian and English.
Presentation types are: oral, poster and virtual.

The presentations presented at the conference will be published in the Conference Abstract Book.
Selected manuscripts from the conference materials will be published in the Proceedings of the Alexandre Janelidze Institute of Geology of Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.

Papers are accepted in English. Published articles will be assigned a DOI and be easily accessible to the reader. The journal has an international Editorial Board (see the Institute's website). The journal is indexed in Google Scholar, Crossref, and other databases.

Within the framework of the conference, it is planned to award the Alexandre Janelidze Institute of Geology medals to scientists in the following 6 nominations: 1. Honored scientist, 2. For contribution to the education of young scientific staff, 3. Meritorious female scientist, 4. For contribution to the development of the Institute, 5. Successful young scientist, 6. For contribution to the development analytical base of the Institute.

The conference will be held at the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University Administrative Building, address: Tbilisi 0179, Ilia Chavchavadze Avenue, №1, room №115.

Registration Instructions and Important Dates

Abstract and registration form submission deadline is: August 15, 2025;
Abstract acceptance: within 2 weeks;
Deadline for full paper submission: October 01, 2025;
Registration Deadline: October 01, 2025.

Conference Fee

The conference is organized by the Alexandre Janelidze Institute of Geology, TSU and all general fees are covered by the institute. Participants must pay an additional fee related to technical and organizational costs. The fee includes the costs of individual participation of the author/authors (conference materials, coffee break, lunch). The cost of the gala-dinner and excursion is an additional fee.

• Participant (standard oral/poster) – $100
• *Student/Young Scientist (oral/poster) – $50
• Virtual presentation (for all) – $50
• Abstract/paper publication only – $50/$100 respectively
• Excursion and gala dinner fee $50 each. Details to be announced later.
• *Students/Young Scientists must provide proof of status.

To participate in the conference, the presenting author must submit a Registration Form (see attachment). On 15.08.2025 the Organizing Committee will send you an invoice via e-mail, upon which you can transfer the required payment to the account below. If necessary, we will send you an Invitation Letter.

Abstract Submission Guidlines

1. The abstract must be submitted in English;
2. Abstract will be a single paragraph and should not exceed 500 words.

The abstract should be written as follows:

• Font - Times New Roman;
• Title - font size №12, bold;
• Author (authors) - font size №11, bold;
• Affiliation - font size №10;
• Co-authors from different organizations should be indicated with numbers (see template below);
• Main text - Times New Roman, №11, single spacing, margins: top - 15 mm, bottom - 20 mm, left - 20 mm and right - 15 mm;
• The abstracts should be submitted as plain text. Figures, photos, tables, formulas and subsections are not allowed;
• References (if desired) can be indicated in the text in parentheses with the author(s) and year, for example: (Taylor, 1999). In the case of several authors: (Alther et al., 2000); Do not specify a list of references;
• 
Abstracts that do not comply with the requirements will not be accepted.

Terms of poster preparation

The poster should be in Portrait format, size: A1 (594mm x 841mm).
The poster should be easily readable from a distance of 1 meter.
The text should be in English only.
For each poster, a dedicated numbered poster board with fixing material will be provided.
