On May 19, 2023, senior pupils of the American International School "Progress" visited the Alexandre Janelidze Institute of Geology. They toured the building of the Institute, familiarized with the history of one of the oldest scientific-research institutions in Georgia, saw photos of famous geologists, collections of minerals and rocks. The pupils visited the laboratories operating in the Institute. Staff of the Complex Laboratory of Geological Research introduced them to the general aspects of laboratory work. They recognized how petrographic thin-sections are prepared, looked at thin- sections under the microscope; they visited the Enrichment Laboratory and learned about the general principle of its work; they also visited the X-ray Fluorescence Analysis Laboratory. The pupils had a lot of interesting questions.
